An Analysis of the Role of Social Capital on Happiness: Evidence from Developing Countries

Abstract
Today, happiness is one of the most important individual goals in human life. The presence of happiness and vitality in life requires identifying and understanding the factors affecting happiness. One of the factors affecting happiness is social capital. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of social capital on happiness in a selection of developing countries during the period 2010-2023 using the generalized moments model (GMM). The results obtained indicate that the social capital index has had a positive and significant effect on happiness. So that by increasing so that a one percent increase in the social capital index has caused a 0.23 percent increase in happiness. Other findings of the study indicate that human capital and unemployment have had a negative effect on happiness. Per capita income has had a positive effect on happiness.
